Thought I would pass this on. I have raced my rig in some of the most demanding types of raceing, Mud, Dirt, & Asphalt. Have wore out the Ford clutch locker, have broken and rebuilt, and broken again the True Track locker. Now Iam running a Detroit Locker that has been put to the test many times, but justs keeps on ticking. Mud draging is about the hardest thing there is on a rear-end. The motor stays at the Red Line, and the tires are trying to get traction. This goes on for 300 feet while you bonce in the deep ruts. The 8.8 with 31 spline axels and a Detroit Locker is the badest set up out there. I have 5 years and 40 runs on mine. I also use a 75 weight Syn. oil, and chage it ever year before the season starts. Had the Dutchman axel company in Oregon build my 31 spline axles 6 years ago. They claim 40% more strength over stock. Believe it. I can't break them eather. Maby this info will save you some time and money. _________________ 84 Bronco II, Built C5 Trans. 4.0 with NOS.
