Went back to the 1/8 mile drags last week. My little B2 did real well. I had a best time of 7.63 and 76 mph. Not bad for a little squair box with 4 wheel drive. My 4:56 gears gave me a good jump on a lot of faster cars, but they couldn't get to the 1/8 mile finish line in time. My reaction times are getting better, .540 is my average. Have the NOS up to 90 HP now. Did burn out my super chip about a month ago, so am running with no chip for now. I hit the rev limiter if i try to launch real hard, so I just set the trans to shift sooner then 5000 rpm. Any one else been raceing this year Still kicking around a turo idea for my 4.0, but money is real tight. O Well, have a couple more little things to try, so maby I can get to my 7.50 goal I set at the begining of the year. Take care Guys. _________________ 84 Bronco II, Built C5 Trans. 4.0 with NOS. Hello RangerRaider. I use Mickey Thompson 315/60 R15 Street Drag tires at the 1/8 drags. They are 30" tall. I race with the 33" mud tires at the dirt, sand, and mud events. I am off to the Drags again today, to try out my new 75mm MAF, along with the new 24 lb. injectors. Will let you know how it works out. Have you been to the Drags this Year _________________ 84 Bronco II, Built C5 Trans. 4.0 with NOS. | Naw I haven't ever been to the track with the Ranger. I'm looking into buying a Vortech V-1 S Trim supercharger off a guy on RPS and then I'd be interested in seeing what it can do. Good luck, let me know how it goes! |

Man did I get it wrong. My time at the drags was 8.67 @ 75.14 mph. ( NOT 7.63 ) I had all my time slips in front of me when I posted, and the 7.63 time was for the car that I raced. I am real happy with the way the B2 runs thou. I went back Saturday to try again with my new MAF, and 24 lb. injectors, only to find out that I had forgot to fill the NOS bottle. So I only made one run, which was 9.92 @ 65.01. Did have a killer Reaction time of .184 thou. The NOS sure makes a BIG difference. The track had invited about 12 front engine dragsters and old funny cars to race, man did they put on a great show. Only have one more 1/8 drag date this year, in Sept. So I will have to get my act togeather and try to get into the 8.50 time that I set as a goal this year. I will let you know how it turns out. _________________ 84 Bronco II, Built C5 Trans. 4.0 with NOS. Went to the last 1/8 drag race last week. Had one good run at 8.72 @ 74.76mph with a .039 lite. Best lite I have ever gotten. Then the nitrous gas solioid went out, ending my day. ( Don't like running slower ) So its back to the drawing board, to see what I can do to get more power, with out spending a ton of money. I am starting to read about the computer thats in the B2, EEC IV. I found a web site that walks dummys like me thru computor workings, and how to change the programs for more power. I know Iam giveing up a lot of power to the stock computor. Hope the rest you guys had a great drag season this year _________________ 84 Bronco II, Built C5 Trans. 4.0 with NOS. To tune EEC-IV on a Ford vehicle you'd need the Ostrich 2.0 + FordEMU. I'm still looking into it for myself but they're quite knowledgeable guys. I'm sure if you posted on the forum they'd answer any questions you had. |
